A huge thank you to all those who entered our World Cup Predictor competition and as promised here is an update on how things are progressing now that we are into the knockout stages of the tournament.

We had 98 entries in total, which means we will be able to distribute cash prizes for 1st place (£300), 2nd place (£150) and 3rd place (£50).

Correctly predicting each group winner gave the chance of entrants winning 10 points per group. There were not too many surprises in terms of group winners apart from maybe Japan in Group E and Morocco in Group F - We had just 1 person correctly predict Japan and no one predicted Morocco!

So, with that in mind things are all very tight with 51 entrants on 60 points and 30 entrants on 50 points.

There are still lots of points to be won with 15 pts on offer for correctly predicting a finalist (50 if you correctly predict both). If you correctly predict the winner that will bag you 50 points. Top Goalscorer in the tournament will get you 25 points and finally predict the total number of goals scored in the tournament and that could get you a bumper 100 points!

Kylian Mbappe (5) is the top scorer at the time of writing but there is plenty of football still to be played. 23 Entrants have picked Mbappe as top scorer.

Belgium, Uruguay, Germany, USA were all selected as finalists by some people, but they have unfortunately packed their bags and headed home already.

So, in summary, everyone is still in with a shout of winning the big prize. Good luck to everyone!
