After a long 15 year wait, our men's team are back in the Lancashire Junior Championship Final.

Following a terrific display on Sunday when our men's Junior team defeated Wolfe Tone 1-17 to 0-05 the lads have made it to the Lancashire Junior showpiece for the first time since 2006.

It had been a long road! We last made the final in 2006 but didn’t manage to win it..... before that our 99 team (pictured) got the job done.

Our lads had been slowly improving over the last few years and have started the journey by capturing the Junior B titles in successive years before Covid brought everything to a halt.

A 3rd place Junior League finish last season meant they missed out on the last league final by the narrowest of margins and was another sign of the improvement being made in the squad competing at the higher grade.

A first final awaits and it is our near neighbours, St. Peter's that stand in our way and it is sure to be a fantastic game.

This year's league game between the two clubs ebbed and flowed with Lawrence's leading for much of the game before the Peter's boys took it away in the final minutes and held on well, showing all their championship experience - it's sure to be close again on Sunday.

Throw-in is at 1.30pm at Old Bedians.

We remind all spectators to observe all local guidance and social distancing rules.

Best of luck to Dan, Fitzy, Tommy and all the lads......... you can do it.
